According to the criminal complaint sworn out in the District of New Hampshire, Sawyer allegedly robbed the St. Mary’s Bank located at 4 Northwest Boulevard in Nashua, and the Chase Bank located at 530 Myrtle Avenue in Boonton. During both robberies, Sawyer allegedly brandished what appeared to be a black semiautomatic handgun and ordered everyone inside the banks to get on the ground and turn over their cell phones.

The details contained in the criminal complaint are allegations. The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

Sawyer was arrested last night by FBI Albany’s SWAT team after FBI Boston and the Nashua Police Department developed information that he may be in Upstate New York. Valuable assistance was provided by FBI New Jersey, the Nashua Police Department, the New Jersey State Police, the New York State Police, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, and the United States Attorneys’ Offices for the District of New Jersey, the Northern District of New York, and the District of Massachusetts.
