The U.S. State Department, through Tommy Pigott and U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau, announced in an official statement that the Trump administration is preparing to revoke approximately 200,000 visas for foreigners who entered the United States between 2016 and 2026 on tourists or business visas and subsequently later applied for asylum.
This would be the largest mass revocation in U.S. history.
The proposed revocations would not necessarily result in immediate deportation, particularly for individuals with pending asylum cases.
The plan is expected to face legal challenges.
