A woman died and her baby was seriously injured after falling from the balcony of a 15th-floor apartment around 3:30 a.m. at 2550 Olinville Avenue in the Bronx, New York, on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. The baby had to be rushed to Jacobi Hospital in a police car.
Police are searching for her ex-boyfriend, as neighbors heard and reported domestic violence coming from his apartment, which resulted in a tragic fall with her 5-month-old baby. Her condition is critical. Neighbors claim the ex-boyfriend pushed them, according to NYPD reports.
The identity of the young mother has not yet been released. She and her baby were taken to a hospital, where she died from her injuries, while the baby and child remain in serious condition.
It is also unclear whether they fell, jumped, or were thrown from the apartment balcony.
NYPD detectives are searching for the ex-boyfriend for questioning, but his identity has not been released. Police records also show a history of domestic violence at the same address as the young woman.
