On Monday, September 21, 2026, around noon, U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agents arrested Gabriel Wilches as he left the Walmart in Doral, at the intersection of NW 13th Ter and NW 87th, near the first entrance to Walmart.
His brother, David Wilches, was waiting for him in the parking lot, as Gabriel had been picking up medication for his mother, who is ill with cancer. When he left the store and headed to his car, they were already waiting to take him away.
According to information received by our newsroom, the arrest was for Gabriel Wilches, although his family has stated that he supposedly has pending asylum.
He entered the country in 2019 with a visa. His family has also stated that he remains in immigration custody in Dania Beach, Florida. Friends have also come forward, describing Gabriel as a good and honest man.
So far we have no further information, nor the reason for his immigration arrest. The same recommendation from the lawyers remains: consult about your status before it’s too late.
