At the start of the show with co-host Craig Melvin, Savannah said, “We’re so glad you started the week with us, and it’s good to have you home.”
Savannah, who has co-hosted ‘TODAY’ since 2012, wore a bright yellow dress, reminiscent of the yellow ribbons and flowers left at her mother’s house.
The two hosts, Savannah and Craig, began with the morning’s top headlines, including those related to the war between the United States and Israel and Iran. “Okay, here we go, ready or not,” Guthrie said. “Let’s get to the news.”

Then, in the second hour of Monday’s show, Savannah came out to greet the “TODAY” fans gathered in Rockefeller Plaza, some wearing yellow pins and holding signs with her mother’s picture. Savannah choked back tears as she took the hand of her co-host, Jenna Bush Hager, and thanked her supporters for their prayers and letters.
“You’ve been wonderful,” she said. “I’ve received so many letters, so many expressions of love for me and my whole family. We feel it. We feel your prayers,” Savannah concluded.
