Bryan Arias-Chicas Got a Minor Drunk, Sexually Assaulted Her and Filmed the Encounter; His Girlfriend Later Threatened and Harassed the Victim on Facebook
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – A Salvadoran national who got a 16-year-old drunk, raped her, and recorded the encounter — and his girlfriend from Honduras who threatened the victim in the case via social media — have both been sentenced to federal prison.
Bryan Sixto Arias-Chicas, 24, pled guilty in July 2026 to the production of child sexual abuse material. Yesterday in U.S. District Court, Arias-Chicas was sentenced 156 months in federal prison. At sentencing, the Court found Arias-Chicas, as part of a pattern of illegal sexual conduct, initially raped the intoxicated victim and hours later recorded himself having sex with the minor victim. Previously, Arias-Chicas was convicted in state court based on having sex with a 14-year-old victim.
Dania Orellana-Gamez, Arias-Chicas’s girlfriend, pled guilty in July 2026 to witness tampering for threatening MV1. In a separate hearing yesterday, Orellana-Gamaz, an illegal immigrant from Honduras, was sentenced to 48 months in federal prison.
A third defendant involved in the incident, Gustavo Quintero Gustavo Quintero was charged in January 2026 with the repeated sexual exploitation of MV1 in the months following the May 2025 sexual assault. In addition to sexual exploitation charges, Quintero has also been charged with assaulting a federal law enforcement officer. His trial is set for later this year.
“This office will use all available tools to seek accountability against those who sexually exploit minors,” said First Assistant United States Attorney Robert Tracci. “We will also seek swift and certain justice against those who seek to subvert justice through witness tampering or others means. I wish to thank Homeland Security Investigations and the Albemarle County Police Department for their work on this case.”
“Arias-Chicas took part in a remarkably brutal assault of a young girl. When the girl bravely came forward, Arias-Chicas’s girlfriend, Orellana-Gamez, harassed and threatened her online. With these sentences, they are being held accountable for their crimes,” said HSI Washington, D.C., Acting Special Agent in Charge Kai Wah Chan. “Our cases are only possible because survivors come forward and share their experiences, often at great personal risk. HSI remains committed to protecting victims and seeking justice for those subjected to abuse and exploitation in our community.”
According to court documents and other evidence, on May 7, 2025, in Albemarle County, Arias-Chicas and Quintero encountered (MV1) walking down the street. Arias-Chicas and Quintero approached MV1 and offered to buy her alcohol.
MV1 agreed and hung out with Arias-Chicas in a parking lot behind a tractor trailer while Quintero went to purchase high alcohol content drinks for MV1. MV1 quickly drank the drinks. She became too drunk to stand upright on her own, began to support herself using the trailer.
Throughout the night and into the next morning, Arias-Chicas, Quintero, and two other men, including Individual 1, took MV1 to multiple locations. On the morning of May 9, 2025, Arias-Chicas, Quintero, and Individual 1 took MV1 to Individual 1’s house in the City of Charlottesville, where they each had sex with MV1.
While Arias-Chicas had sex with MV1, and engaged in other sexual activity with her, he used his cell phone to take multiple videos and pictures of MV1 that depict MV1 naked and engaging in sexually explicit conduct.
In February 2026, shortly after Arias-Chicas and Quintero were charged federally for their roles in the sexual exploitation of MV1, Orellana-Gamez contacted MV1 via Facebook Messenger and began harassing and threatening her.
Orellana-Gamez told MV1 it was in her best interest to “keep quiet” and threatened to “upload all those videos and put your name on them,” referring to the videos that Arias-Chicas had recorded of the sexual assault of MV1.
Orellana-Gamez also threatened to post the videos “everywhere.”
MV1 reported the contact to law enforcement and felt Orellana was attempting to scare her into not testifying in court.
The case is being investigated by Homeland Security Investigations, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the Albemarle County Police Department.
Assistant U.S. Attorneys Jason Scheff and S. Cagle Juhan prosecuted the Arias-Chicas and Orellana-Gamez.
