On Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 9:30 p.m., Doral police conducted a routine traffic stop on NW 102nd Avenue. The vehicle had two occupants, a man and a woman.
During the official’s process, the individuals ran from the vehicle, and a police chase ensued. The woman was quickly apprehended, while the other suspect fled into the Costa del Sol community.
Thanks to the work of Chief Castillo’s agents, after an intense search, the suspect, Kaio Da-Cruz Oliveira (09/29/2002), was captured on Friday morning. He also has multiple felony charges, including robbery and drug trafficking, and is also wanted by ICE.
During the search of the vehicle, narcotics and firearms were found.
Later, Doral Police Chief Matthew Castillo stated in a press release:
We are aware of the incident that occurred in the Costa del Sol community.
The suspect is in custody, and the area has been declared safe. There is no threat to the public.
We appreciate the community’s patience and cooperation during the police operation.
