On Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 9:30 p.m., Doral police conducted a routine traffic stop on NW 102nd Avenue. The vehicle had two occupants, a man and a woman.
During the stop, the individuals fled the vehicle, and the woman was apprehended. A warrant was issued for the man, and thanks to the efforts of Chief Castillo’s officers, after an extensive search, he was captured in the Costa Azul neighborhood on Friday morning.
During the search of the vehicle, narcotics and firearms were found.
Later, Doral Police Chief Matthew Castillo stated in a press release:
We are aware of the incident that occurred in the Costa del Sol community.
The suspect is in custody, and the area has been declared safe. There is no threat to the public.
We appreciate the community’s patience and cooperation during the police operation.
