FBI Cleveland is proud to announce Ms. Ann Jackson as its recipient of the FBI Director’s Community Leadership Award. She was presented a personalized award along with a certificate signed by FBI Director Patel.
FBI Cleveland Special Agent in Charge Josh DelManzo honored Jackson during a closed ceremony at FBI Cleveland. “Ann is a tireless champion who fosters awareness, education, and outreach to our law enforcement community that will augment the protection of countless people while serving future generations. The work Ann is doing transcends not only those whose lives are impacted in the present day through the work with the Geauga County Bluecoats, but also the next generation of law enforcement officers.”
Ann is the executive director for the Geauga County Blue Coats. The Geauga County Blue Coats is a charitable foundation that provides support for the families of Geauga County Safety Forces who have lost their lives in the line of duty. The Geauga County Blue Coats also graciously donate funds to provide local law enforcement with safety equipment to include high tech cameras and digital fingerprint machines.
In her role, Ann has strengthened local public safety by coordinating and providing high-quality law enforcement trainings, including firearms instruction as well as specialized K-9 training programs. Her commitment to ensuring officers have knowledge, skills, and resources they need is a true testament to her unwavering support to those who serve and protect our community.
FBI Cleveland and Ann first connected nearly 18 years ago when Ann attended the FBI Cleveland Citizens Academy and became a proud, active member of the FBI Cleveland Citizens Academy Alumni Association. Over time she stayed in contact and strengthened her relationship with FBI Cleveland by sharing resources, insight, and support when opportunities arose. Ann always ensures that any training being conducted by the Geauga County Bluecoats is offered to FBI Cleveland personnel as well.
The FBI established the Director’s Community Leadership Award in 1990 to publicly acknowledge the achievements of those working to make a difference in their communities through the promotion of education and the prevention of crime and violence. The FBI’s 56 field offices select the recipients annually for this honor.
