Savannah Guthrie Announces $1 Million Reward for Nancy Guthrie’s Recovery

Release Date
02/24/2026

Savannah Guthrie, host of the “Today” show, announced Tuesday that she is now offering a new $1 million reward for the recovery of her mother, Nancy Guthrie, who has been missing since February 1. Between the family and authorities, the reward has risen to $1.2 million.

The family told Media News that they have been willing to negotiate the reward from the beginning, but authorities have advised them against doing so.

The Guthries will also donate $500,000 to the Center for Missing and Exploited Children to help with other missing persons cases.

Nancy Guthrie, 84, was abducted from her home in Tucson, Arizona, by an unknown suspect in the early morning hours of Sunday, February 1.

Savannah Guthrie said in the video that her mother might be “dancing in heaven” and “If this is what it’s meant to be, we’ll accept it. But we need to know where she is.”

“Every hour, minute, second, and every long night has been agony,” Savannah Guthrie wrote in her Instagram post Tuesday morning.

“We continue to believe in a miracle,” Savannah Guthrie said. “We also know she could be lost. She could be gone.”

“Someone knows,” Savannah Guthrie said. “And we are pleading with them to come forward now.”

Savannah Guthrie wrote in the caption that anyone with information can anonymously call the FBI or “contact me.”

Concluding her message with another plea, Savannah urged anyone with information to contact the authorities. “Please, if you hear this message; if you’ve been waiting and aren’t sure, let this be your sign to come forward, share what you know, and help us bring our beloved mother home so we can celebrate a glorious and miraculous return—or the beautiful, brave, noble, and courageous life she has lived,” Savannah said. “Please be the light in the darkness.”

If you have any information concerning this case, please contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324). You may also contact your local FBI office, the nearest American Embassy or Consulate, or you can submit a tip online at tips.fbi.gov.
