Latana Williams is accused of leaving her 3-year-old son alone in the car for two hours.
Latana Williams, 27, was arrested in DeLand, Florida, on a first-degree felony charge for leaving her 3-year-old son unsupervised in the car for approximately two hours while she went to donate plasma.

“The DeLand Fire Department and Volusia County Fire Rescue Service responded to the scene, where a witness had already begun performing CPR before emergency services arrived,” according to a press release from the DeLand Police Department.

The child was found in critical condition and transported to the hospital on Sunday, May 31.
Williams was charged with child neglect, a first-degree felony. She denies any wrongdoing. Authorities indicated that the child’s condition appeared good, but also emphasized the importance of road safety.
