In Santillo, Mexico, a very sad case of a homeless man named Jaimito, who died on July 3, 2026, is unfolding. His only friend and companion was his small dog. Local merchants said they always saw the man with his pet, his faithful and loyal friend.
The merchants contacted the city’s coroner, who went to the scene. They found the dog by his side, watching over his owner. In the video, the pet is seen trying to keep people away from his owner’s body.
The CSI team wanted to take pictures, but his faithful friend removed everything they put on the ground to avoid any contact, even barking at the officers.
To this day, it’s unknown whether Jaimito had a family. The residents asked him, but he sadly replied, “I have a family and I don’t,” adding, “But my friend, my little dog, he’s always with me.” Jaimito was very kind; whenever he saw another homeless person, he would share his food.
Once again, words can’t express how dogs come into people’s lives for a reason, a purpose, becoming their best friend. They ask for nothing, only food and love.
According to the residents, the little dog had also been abandoned by his family, left unprotected on the street, where Jaimito appeared. The dog chose him, and from then on, they were inseparable.
So far, the authorities do not know the cause of death. The dog is now in the care of rescue dog groups. According to the latest information, he is doing well and remains under care, waiting for a kind person or family to adopt him and give him a better life, because he deserves it for being so loyal—man’s best friend.

Jaimito era muy bondadoso; siempre que veía a otra persona sin hogar, compartía su comida.

Hasta el momento, las autoridades desconocen la causa de la muerte. El perro se encuentra ahora al cuidado de grupos de rescate canino. Según la información más reciente, está bien y permanece bajo cuidados, esperando que una persona o familia bondadosa lo adopte y le brinde una vida mejor, porque se lo merece por ser tan leal: el mejor amigo del hombre.
