Dear Residents

For the first time in the City of Doral’s history, residents will see their City property taxes reduced for a second consecutive year.
Last week, I proudly voted in favor of adopting the FY 2026–2027 operating millage rate of 1.5994 mills, making history for our City and reaffirming my commitment to responsible government and protecting Doral’s taxpayers.
This achievement is much more than a tax reduction. It reflects years of responsible financial planning, disciplined budgeting, and a steadfast commitment to ensuring that every public dollar is managed wisely. Fiscal responsibility is not about making promises; it is about making thoughtful decisions that strengthen our City’s financial future while continuing to provide the outstanding services our residents expect and deserve.
Last year, I supported reducing the City’s tax rate because I believed Doral’s strong financial position made it the right decision. This year, thanks to the responsible budgeting and financial discipline demonstrated by our City, we were once again able to lower the tax burden on our residents without compromising public safety, infrastructure, parks, transportation, or the high-quality municipal services that have made Doral one of Florida’s premier communities.
Providing tax relief is not about politics; it is about ensuring that government lives within its means while continuing to invest in our community. I will continue to support policies that promote fiscal discipline, efficient government, and responsible stewardship of the resources entrusted to us by our residents.
It is disappointing that, instead of celebrating this historic achievement for our residents, some have chosen to spread misinformation rather than acknowledge the facts. Our community deserves honest leadership, factual information, and elected officials who put results before politics.
I am proud to have cast my vote in support of this historic measure, and I will continue working every day to protect your tax dollars while preserving the exceptional quality of life that makes Doral such a remarkable place to live, work, and raise a family.
DO MORE. DELIVER RESULTS. DO DORAL.
Respectfully,

Rafael Pineyro
Councilman
City of Doral
