Our newsroom receives daily reports, information, and images detailing the heavy ICE presence in Doral, Florida. Residents are worried because they say ICE is taking anyone, regardless of their immigration status or whether they have legal documents.
Reports include two arrests last week at the intersection of 41st and 114th Streets, between Navarro and the sushi restaurant. Another arrest occurred this past Sunday, September 6, 2026, between 11:00 PM and 11:45 PM. On Monday, September 7, there was one arrest at 9:30 AM. We are not releasing information about those arrested for privacy reasons.
On Tuesday, September 8th, in Midtown Doral at 41st and 107th, Adribel Baptista was detained. He was on his way to work. Countless similar cases have the population in a state of panic, terrified by what is happening. We ask the local authorities of Doral to intervene before the city is further affected.
Businesses are empty, the streets are even emptier. On social media, people are being warned not to go to certain streets, not to pass by certain gas stations, and to run from certain markets. Some long-time business owners posted on Instagram saying that because of what is happening, they are closing their businesses.
Most of the businesses we have spoken to say that they used to have an average of 30 people, but now only 5 come to their establishments.
Furthermore, Doral City Councilman Rafael Pineyro announced on social media that he will be sending letters to members of Congress and the Senate. Pineyro added that ICE is attacking our families, hardworking people, our businesses, our schools, and people who are doing the right thing and are in the immigration process. He also stated that people with criminal records do not deserve to be here.
